2018 wrap up

I love this quote by Dr. Seuss.  This card is meant as a birthday card for my niece, but could be used for many occasions and seems appropriate to post on the last day of the year.  It was also my last start in 2018.  218 starts in 2018. I didn't plan it that way, but I enjoy the symmetry in the numbers.  I tried really hard to finish all of my starts this year and spent most of December finishing pieces from prior months.  Sadly, I only finished 217.  I have one Halloween piece from "StichMaynia that I couldn't finish. It's stitched on 36 count beige fabric that is driving my eyes bonkers. I decided to put it away for a while and finish it later in 2019.

So my year wrap up

218 starts with 217 finishes
     1 finish from 2015 UFOs
    29 finishes from 2016 UFOs
    29 finishes from 2017 UFOs
   158 finishes from 2018 starts

It's amazing what you can accomplish when your kids are off in college and you are unemployed for 4 months!  I plan to continue with the Crazy Facebook Challenge with a start a day for Jan-March and then will focus on some larger UFOs from years past. At least that's the plan,..

2018 wraps up in Colorado with a cold and snowy day. My new job continues to go well and I survived my first Christmas season back in retail.

I wish all of you the very best in 2019,
Michele

December Smalls SAL

Decempber 31, 2018
Happy last day of 2018!  Not as much stitching this month for me as I had to do some holiday baking and decorating, but I finished a few things.

First, thanks, as always, to Heather at Stitching Lotus for sponsoring the Smalls SAL. I want to give her a HUGE thanks for doing this and wish her the best in 2019!

The first four were starts from previous months that are now complete.  I set a goal at the beginning of December to finish everything I had started for the year.

These four are new starts and finishes for December.  A couple of last minute Christmas cards, a Christmas gift and a birthday card.  I still need to assemble the card.

I'll have one more post today where I wrap up my year in stitching and let you know if I made my goal.

Have a safe New Year!.

More cards

12/10/2018

With a few mailing days to spare, I have finished the last of my Christmas cards.
This design was stitched in 2016 and finally turned into a card.  It may not be obvious from the picture, but the blue ornament can be removed and hung on a tree.

These two were stitched in 2017 and will be given this year.

These are all 2018 finishes, although some of them are UFO's from 2016 and 2017.

The below card has me stymied as I can't  figure out when I stitched it.  I'm pretty sure I stitched it this year, but can't find a reference to it.  Nor can I find a reference to it from 2017.   It's a Leisure Arts pattern from a booklet I purchased last year, so I know it has to be from last year or this. I need to look through old posts maybe that will help. I'll figure it out, but for now, who knows.

And last but not least, a non-Christmas card!

Now to finish a couple of last minute gifts and then on to peanut butter balls!

Stay warm,
Michele

Finishes, finishes, finishes!

12/01/2018

I'm taking advantage of a day off to catch up on some things.  I shipped my cards for WOCS and wanted to post some pictures of finished cards.  I got a Big Shot Embossing and Die Cutting machine earlier this year and am using it to enhance my cards.

These are pieces I stitched in 2017 and made into cards this year.

These cards are pieces I stitched this year.

I will be starting to assemble my remaining 21 cards for this year and will post when done!

Happy Stitching,
Michele
