12.30.2016

Ok, a couple more updates from yesterday's posts.

I finished another Mill Hill kit.

And here's the picture of the card from one of yesterday's posts.  Very simple finish, but it was a very last minute card.

Happy stitching!

December Smalls SAL

12.29.2016

Seriously, where has 2016 gone? I mean SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh wait, I know, it was spent stitching for my crazy challenge.  So, I still have a little over 2 days to finish whatever I can and I will post a final year in review on Sunday January 1, 2017( insert gasp of horror).  I'm still finishing holiday baking and still have a couple of presents to finish...ugh.

Let's move on to thanks to Heather at Stitching Lotus for sponsoring the 2016 Smalls SAL and continuing the fun into 2017. I really enjoy seeing everyone's creativity!

On to my finishes for the month. I was frantically trying to finish Christmas cards and gifts.
Below are two cards I stitched up. Ok, 1 card and 1 finish because I realized I forgot to take a picture of the finished card for Ho Ho Ho number 2. GRRRRRRRRRRR.

Front and back of an ornament for an ornament exchange. It really turned out well if I say so myself.

Mill Hill kit and birthday card for a niece who plays soccer and her club colors are, you guessed it, orange and black.

More Mill Hill Kits.  I tweaked the colors on two of the orange and blue snowmen to match the Denver Bronco colors and they were a present for a Bronco fan.

Ok, my computer is not letting me do what I want, but the two trees above were last minute cards.
and the two below were also last minute cards.  I made more personal cards this year and just ran out of time so far too many of them were last minute.  And I wonder why I have calluses on my fingers, not to mention an actual hole in one of them.  Does anyone else wear a hole in their needle pushing finger?  Thimbles just don't seem to work for me.

If anyone wants to know where patterns came from, or names and number of Mill Hill Kits, let me know and I'll supply.

And I truly hope everyone had a great Christmas weekend. If you do not celebrate Christmas, then I wish you whichever holiday greetings are appropriate for you.  It seems like 2016 was such a tough year for so many and I pray 2017 brings much health and happiness to everyone!

I'm looking forward to a 3 day New Year's weekend to finish out 2016, get organized for 2017 and maybe clean my house.  Nahhhhhhh, skip the house cleaning part!

Hugs,
Michele

11.30.2016 additional comment

I forgot to thanks Heather, at Stitching Lotus for sponsoring the Smalls SAL.  It always exciting to see what everyone else has posted and to get inspired by their creativity.

Cheers,

November Smalls SAL

11/30/2016

Boy is the year speeding by, with Christmas less than a month away.  I was able to finish a few things this month.  Patterns from a variety of designers, so please let me know if you are interested in any.

I'm at 223 finishes out of 335 starts for the year on my crazy Facebook challenge.  I have a few more projects for Christmas cards yet to finish and still need another month's worth of starts. I've enjoyed this challenge, but will resume the original challenge next year, which is a start a day for January and February.  I'd like to spend time finishing or at least working on some of my larger projects.

Speaking of Christmas cards, here are some pictures of the finished cards themselves, and not just the finished stitching.

And here's the finished wine charms I had stitched earlier in the year.  I sealed them with Modge Podge to keep the back threads from fraying and to add a little protection in case of spills.
Happy stitching,
Michele

More October finishes

As I discussed in my last post, I was able to finish a few more projects for October.  These are all from the same Bucilla kit, 30 Mini Ornaments and will be turned into Christmas cards.  These bring my total for the year to 306 starts and 206 finishes.

While I've enjoyed the challenge of a "start a day for a year", and yes, I know I still have 2 more months to go, I will not do this next year.  Assuming this crazy Facebook challenge continues, I'll stick with the original premise of "a start a day for 2 months" and then spend some time on my bigger projects. I know I will have more than 60 starts by the end of 2017, but I won't plan for more than 60.

Happy November!
Michele
