March Smalls SAL

Hello fellow stitchers. I'm a little late on my post as I just finished working 9 days in a row.  I was so tired the last few days that I just didn't have the energy to log on.

And I didn't finish many projects this month as I have been busy working on a larger project.  My oldest son graduates college next month and will be moving into his own apartment. I've been busy working on a large housewarming gift for him.

On to this months finishes.  The two Halloween pieces will be put on blocks and used as decorations.

 

These two are intended for cards as I know two different people with pancreatic cancer. 

 

I also finished one piece I started in February.  This will be a card.

Again, not many finishes this month, but I am making progress on Joe's project.  It's a four page pattern and I have about 1 1/3 pages done.

February Wrap Up

Hello Friends,
March came in like a lion for us in Colorado with very cold temperatures and snow.  We spent some of that time celebrating family birthdays and just hanging out inside.

I did have a few more finishes for February, all from the Stoney Creek Winter 2017.

 

 

I used the recommended floss and banded ornaments and love the way these turned out.  I finished the last piece in the series a couple of days ago and will post a picture of that in my March Smalls update. However, here's a picture of the set.

February Smalls SAL

Time for my Smalls update.  Thanks to Mary at Mary's Threads for sponsoring this.

The below three pieces are the only small pieces I started and finished in February.

This last piece was started and finished in February, but is not what I consider a small.  It's 77 stitches wide by 110 stitches high and will be a baby gift for someone once their baby is born.

That's it for me so far, but a few days to go before the month is over.

January Wrap Up

February 1 already!  Who's watching the Super Bowl on Sunday?  I have the day off, but have lots of stitching planned, so I might watch the game.  I'm not a huge football fan and since the home team (Denver Broncos) is not playing, the only reason to watch is the commercials!

I did manage a few more finishes, all intended for cards.

 

 





Happy Birthday is an original design and is meant for a 5 x 7 card, If anyone wants it, let me know and I'll send it.  I will be stitching more of them throughout the year in various colors.

Two of the starts are progress on WIP/ UFOs from 2016.  I'm doing WIP Wednesdays, so my starts on Wednesdays are progress on a UFO from a previous year.  Otherwise it's a brand new start a day through March.

January Smalls Update

Happy New Year Stitchy Friends!

A special thanks to Mary of Mary's Threads, who took over this small SAL from Heather at Stitching Lotus.  Heather ran this for years and needed a break from technology so Mary graciously stepped up.

2019 is off to a great stitching start!  I am once again participating in Debbie's Ultimate Crazy Cross Stitch Challenge on Facebook, with a start a day for the first three months of the year.  I was originally going to do a brand new start every day and not include UFO's, but recently decided to add WIP Wednesday to this.

Below are my finishes so far this month.  Let me know if you want to know any of the designers.

2018 wrap up

I love this quote by Dr. Seuss.  This card is meant as a birthday card for my niece, but could be used for many occasions and seems appropriate to post on the last day of the year.  It was also my last start in 2018.  218 starts in 2018. I didn't plan it that way, but I enjoy the symmetry in the numbers.  I tried really hard to finish all of my starts this year and spent most of December finishing pieces from prior months.  Sadly, I only finished 217.  I have one Halloween piece from "StichMaynia that I couldn't finish. It's stitched on 36 count beige fabric that is driving my eyes bonkers. I decided to put it away for a while and finish it later in 2019.

So my year wrap up

     1 finish from 2015 UFOs
    29 finishes from 2016 UFOs
    29 finishes from 2017 UFOs
   158 finishes from 2018 starts

It's amazing what you can accomplish when your kids are off in college and you are unemployed for 4 months!  I plan to continue with the Crazy Facebook Challenge with a start a day for Jan-March and then will focus on some larger UFOs from years past. At least that's the plan,..

2018 wraps up in Colorado with a cold and snowy day. My new job continues to go well and I survived my first Christmas season back in retail.

December Smalls SAL

Decempber 31, 2018
Happy last day of 2018!  Not as much stitching this month for me as I had to do some holiday baking and decorating, but I finished a few things.

First, thanks, as always, to Heather at Stitching Lotus for sponsoring the Smalls SAL. I want to give her a HUGE thanks for doing this and wish her the best in 2019!

The first four were starts from previous months that are now complete.  I set a goal at the beginning of December to finish everything I had started for the year.

 

 

These four are new starts and finishes for December.  A couple of last minute Christmas cards, a Christmas gift and a birthday card.  I still need to assemble the card.

 

 




I'll have one more post today where I wrap up my year in stitching and let you know if I made my goal.
