Happy day after Graduation!
Yes, my baby graduated high school yesterday! He, along with one of his classmates, gave the welcome speech at graduation and he was also one of eight valedictorians for his class, along with several other awards.
Below is a picture of my dad with my two sons and another of the proud graduate. He will attend the University of Colorado at Boulder, CO in the fall, where he plans to study aerospace engineering. His older brother Joe, just finished his second year at CU, where he studies civil engineering.
Ok, enough "proud mama" moments and on to stitching fun!
First, thanks to
Heather at Stitching Lotus for sponsoring the SAL. I don't always remember to give her credit and want to take care of that first. It's a lot of work to do this every month and I really appreciate it!
Here are the last of the thank you cards for teachers. I made 10 cards for teachers and 19 graduation cards.
I finished the below birthstone patterns by
Shannon Christine. I started these in a previous month and wanted to get the stitching finished. They are, August Peridot, October Opal, Spooky Elegance ( for another October birthday) and December Zircon. I still have to make the cards but at least the stitching is done.
A couple of Mill Hill finishes, also started in a prior month.
Snapland Winter Chalet by Bent Creek and Cardinal Tree from JBW Christmas Tree Collection II. I'm going to add a few beads for decorations to the tree.
Mother's Day presents for mother-in-law and sister-in-law. Blackwork designs from a sampler selection I found online.
Decided a couple of weeks ago to stitch the school logo, get it framed and give it to the school. Spent a marathon weekend stitching in order to allow the framers adequate time to get it framed. I imported the school logo into PC Stitch 11 to create the pattern. This really isn't a small, but I had to post it anyway.
And finally a bunch of Hooties from various patterns by
Pinoy Stitch. I love the owls and plan on turning them into seasonal decorations.
I'm still participating in
Deb's Ultimate Crazy Jan/ Feb Facebook Challenge and as of today, have started 146 projects and finished 122 of them. Of course, since today is on the 26th I still have 5 days left in the month to stitch, so we'll see what I can finish over the next 5 days.
Happy Memorial Day weekend,
Michele
